----1 year later---
It was Christmas time again.
It had been a year since everything had happened, since you had met a boy that hat stolen your heart.
The first couple of months after you were kidnapped by Pitch were hard. You always seemed to wake up in the middle of the night with wisps of a nightmare playing in your head. But it would go away soon after you woke up, and was usually replaced with memories of Jack or of a golden spirit flying by your window trailed by long golden strands of what looked like sand.
But it passed, and you stopped being afraid of the dark once again.
The school year came and went, and before you knew it, it was winter yet again.
“(f/n) I’m going shopping, do you want to come?” You were looking out your window at the snowy world below as your mom called to you.
“Nah, I’m good mom. I’ll see you later though.” You pulled your (h/c) hair out of your face. It had grown and you hadn’t really given the time to go get it cut.
“Okay, but keep your phone on you if you go out.” You gave a loud yeah and grabbed your things.
Scarf, gloves, coat, phone, keys… what else am I missing? Oh!
You reached into your bookcase and brought out a book you hadn’t opened in a year, ever since the corners had gotten frosted by a certain someone.
“Maybe it is time…” you spoke out loud to no one in particular and ran down you stairs. Outside your house, the wind was chilly and somewhat harsh on your face.
You laughed at the wind and how persistent it seemed to be pushing you toward the forest behind your house. You speed walked into the forest, your pace quickening as you reached your destination.
“Finally back…” You smiled to yourself and sat down on the ridge, the frozen lake below. Opening the book, you let yourself be pulled back into the wonders of it.
It had been about twenty minutes before you realized that you weren’t alone.
“That book really likes to keep your attention, huh? I wonder who it’s about…” You smiled as cold arms wrapped around your shoulders. You leaned against his chest with a content smile on your face.
“You should know, you froze the corners of it last year, Jack Frost.” His laugh seemed to coat you with something that came whenever you thought about him.
“So, um… are you feeling better by any chance?” You looked into his sea colored eyes and laughed.
“I’ve felt better for a while; you just haven’t been around to tell.” He glared at you, but you could see a blush creeping along his pale face.
You giggled and looked over the lake again, smiling to yourself. Jack looked at you and smiled, not realizing you noticed.
You turned as quickly as you could and smashed you lips against his. He jerked back, but slowly sank into it.
When the kiss broke, you stared into his eyes for a moment before speaking.
“That’s payback for last year, you never did finish before you disappeared…a-and I wanted to tell you something, too.” Jack looked at you expectantly.
“Uhh… I, uh, I think I might be in love with you…” You blushed so deep your face became crimson.
Jack just laughed. You started to glare at him when you noticed how red his face was too.
“Ya know, I was thinking the same thing. And this might be enough for payback.” And with that, Jack pulled you closer to him and pressed his lips back against yours.
Through the kiss you could hear him say something that made you heart soar. “(f/n), I love you too.”
