The sky was dark, the stars glowing dimly from your view. You sat on a bed, the mattress stiff and hard under you as you shifted your position to better stare out your window. It was a nice night, one where you wished nothing was wrong, but you never did get the wished you had granted.
“You wench! You’ve been to the tavern again, haven’t you!?” You heard a crash sound behind the closed door that led to your room, the one you shared with your mother on most nights.
“You now I needed to help tonight! And you’d better be happy about it; it gave us twelve more gold pieces!” You sighed, at twelve years old, no one in town ever believed you when you told them about how your parents fought constantly. You stared at the berries in front of you, half waiting for your eyes to close as you did so. It wasn't that you were fond of staring at pieces of food, but that you were doing something that Peter had asked you to do, and making yourself look unprepared and unarmed was the best way to do it.
You sighed, picking a berry and sticking it into your mouth, savoring the tangy sweetness as you remembered Pan’s exact words.
“_______, I need you to meet Emma’s group of ‘rescuers’ and get with them. I don’t particularly care how they find you or how you join them, but I believe a weak, weaponless Lost Girl might be the best approach.” Pan had walked to you as you sat staring at the roaring fire. Henry was asleep in the corner, apparently un-plagued by the ubiquitous crying that always haunted your mind as you slept.
You stared at Peter, meeting his stormy eyes with your own as you raised an eyebrow. He just stared back, giving
